Hip and Groin Injuries
Hip and groin pain can significantly affect your ability to move, exercise, or even perform daily tasks. These problems can arise from joint issues, soft tissue injuries, or a combination of both.
Below are some common conditions that affect the hip and groin area.
Hip Joint Osteoarthrosis (Hip Osteoarthritis): Hip osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition where the cartilage that cushions the hip joint wears down over time. This can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced range of motion.
Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI): FAI occurs when extra bone grows along one or both of the bones that form the hip joint. These bone spurs can cause friction and damage the joint over time.
Adductor Tendinopathy/Enthesopathy: This condition involves chronic irritation or injury to the tendons of the adductor muscles, which run along the inner thigh and attach to the pelvis.
Labral tear: The labrum is a ring of cartilage that lines the rim of the hip socket and helps stabilize the joint. Tears can result from trauma, repetitive motion, or structural abnormalities like FAI.
