
Dr Neil Halpin
As one of the most experienced Sport and Exercise Physicians in the country, Neil brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in all areas of Sports Medicine.
Neil has been the Chief Medical Officer to the Newcastle Knights since the club’s inception and he is one of the longest serving doctors in the National Rugby League (NRL). He was Chief Medical Officer for both the 1997 and 2001 premiership winning sides at the Knights. Neil continues in his role as Chief Medical Officer to the Newcastle Jets Football Club, a role he has held since inception of the football club.
Neil has a subspecialist interest in groin injuries and he has consulted and operated on elite athletes across a wide range of sporting disciplines throughout his distinguished career. He also has a specialist interest in the investigation and management of claudicant leg pain.
Neil continues to consult on all acute and chronic injuries and he welcomes all referrals from across the Newcastle & the Hunter region.
Dr Jin Lee is a Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician consulting out of Hunter Sports Medicine Specialists.
Jin is the current Chief Medical Officer to the Newcastle Knights Rugby League Club and he returns to the Hunter region to work alongside his mentor Dr Neil Halpin. Jin has worked with several teams across the National Rugby League (NRL) throughout his training and in addition to his role at the Knights, he continues to provide medical coverage to athletes of the highest level at the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS). He has worked at the national and international level across a range of sports including sport coverage for Cricket Australia, Tennis Australia, teams across the A-League, AFL, Rugby Union and Athletics Australia.
Jin consults on all musculoskeletal injuries encompassing both acute and chronic overuse injuries as well as medical presentations pertaining to sport. He welcomes referrals for athletes of all ages. Jin also consults on athletes who have sustained concussions and provides tailored management plans for those in their recovery post concussion.

Dr Ewen Bradbery

Dr Ewen Bradbery is a Sport and Exercise Physician consulting out of Hunter Sports Medicine Specialists.
Ewen has returned to his hometown of Newcastle to join Dr Neil Halpin and Dr Jin Lee. Ewen has most recently worked at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) where he was the medical lead of the Basketball Australia Women’s Centre of Excellence program and the Australian Volleyball Academy. During his time at the AIS he consulted a range of junior and senior athletes across Summer and Winter Olympic and Paralympic sports, including national Rowing and Paddle teams at the AIS European Training Centre in Italy. He is the current team doctor for the Olyroos, Australian Under 23 Men’s Football Team, and is often travelling internationally with this role. He also currently works regularly in the NRL, NRLW, Super Rugby, and Test Match Rugby in a range of different medical roles.
Outside of work you will commonly see Ewen on the football fields chasing a ball with the New Lambton Eagles or with his wife and sausage dog looking for their next coffee!

He has a breadth of experience and is interested in helping all patients, from young to old and elite to weekend warrior achieve their health and performance goals.
Dr. Kenneth Lee is a dedicated General Practitioner with a passion for sports medicine, currently working as an aspiring Sports Medicine Registrar. With extensive experience in elite and community-level sports, Dr. Lee has worked with professional teams such as the Parramatta Eels, Newcastle Knights, and Newcastle Jets.
Beyond team sports, Dr. Lee has provided medical support at a range of high-performance sporting events, including sailing, basketball, CrossFit, triathlons, and surfing. This diverse experience has honed his expertise in acute injury management, rehabilitation, and athlete performance optimization.
